How to schedule a Special Pick Up?
Residents can schedule a special pick up by calling the District office at (516) 481-7110 Monday thru Friday between the hours of 7:00am and 3:30pm
What items require a Special Pick Up?
Large bulky items such as refrigerator (doors removed), stove, washer, dryer, couches, etc..
What must I recycle?
Items to recycle are newsprint, glass containers or jars, aluminum and tin cans, plastic food or detergent containers (indicating a #1 or #2 on bottom of container)
How do I request a recycling bin?
Residents can call the District office at (516) 489-2889 or email and request one to be dropped off
Who picks up dead animals?
Residents can call Town of Hempstead Highway Department at (516) 775-8587
How to dispose of Needles or Sharps?
Needles/Sharps need to be placed in a sealed container with points broken off.
Who is responsible for snow removal, downed tree limbs or street cleaning?
