Many items that you want to dispose of may a require a "Special Pickup" due to various reasons: size, weight, etc...
Some items that require a special pickup are as follows:
Pianos
Televisions (any size)
Oil Tanks (which must be completely empty, cut in quarters or half, depending on size)
Furnaces (which are completely broken down)
Appliances such as:
Washers
Dryers
Dehumidifiers
Refrigerators (doors removed)
Air Conditioners
Stoves
Hot Water Heater
Couch or Sofabed (sofabed needs to be tied or secured)
Mattress/Box Springs/Bedding: District Regulations require all Mattresses, Box Springs and ALL Bedding be wrapped in plastic or placed in mattress bags before placing curbside.

SLOW DOWN TO GET AROUND IS A NEW YORK STATE LAW
In November, 2016, the Slow Down to Get Around law went into effect in New York State and requires drivers to slow down when passing waste and recycling collection vehicles when the vehicle's safety lights are flashing.
